The Truth about Jesus (Nabi Isa a.s) according to Al-Quran

In the name of Allah, the All-Merciful, The All-Compassionate.

"This is the Truth from your Lord. Do not doubt it.[3:60]

Mary, Mother of Jesus
The angels said,"O Mary (Maryam), Allah has chosen you and purified you, and preferred you above the women of the worlds." [3:42]

The Angel's Visit
When Mary was alone, We sent to her Our Angel Gabriel (Jibrail a.s.), who appeared before her in the form of a man. Alarmed, she said,"May The All-Merciful protect me from you!" Angel Gabriel said,"I am only a messenger from your Lord, to announce to you the gift of a holy son." [19:17-19]

The Messiah, Jesus, Son of Mary
Angel Gabriel said," A Word from Allah, a son, whose name will be the Messiah, Jesus Christ (Al Masih, Isa), son of Mary- honoured in this world and the Hereafter, and among those closest to Allah. He will speak to the people in his cradle and in middle-age, and will be of the righteous." [3:45-46]

A Miraculous Conception
Mary said,"My Lord, how will I have a son? No man has touched me nor am I unchaste." Angel Gabriel replied,"So it will be; your Lord says," It is easy for Me, and We will make him a sign for mankind and a mercy from Us." Allah creates what He wills. When He decrees a matter, He only says to it,"Be!" - and it is."[19:20-21, 3:47]

A Prophet to the Israelites
Angel Gabriel said further,"Allah will teach Jesus the book and wisdom, and the Torah (Taurat) and the Gospel (Injeel), and will make him a Messenger to the Children of Israel (the descendents of Prophet Jacob (Yaakub a.s.) who was also know as Israel."[3:48-49]

Virgin Mary conceived Jesus
We breathed of Our Spirit into Mary. So she conceived him and withdrew with him to a remote place.[21:91, 19:22]

Jesus brought to Mary's family
After Mary had delivered, she went to her family, carrying baby Jesus. They said,"O Mary! You have done an outrageous thing!" She merely pointed to baby Jesus. They said,"How can we talk to a baby?" [19:27-29]

First Miracle - Spoke in the Cradle
Whereupon baby Jesus spoke out,"Indeed, I am a Servant of Allah. He will give me Revelation and make me a Prophet, and has made me blessed wherever I may be. Allah has enjoined upon me prayer and charity as long as I live, and kindness towards my mother, and has made me not arrogant or wretched."[19:30-32]

The Gospel of Jesus
Allah gave Jesus the Gospel, and supported him with the Holy Spirit (Angel Gabriel). Jesus said,"I have come confirming the Torah of Moses which was revealed before me, and to make lawful for you some of what was forbidden to you, and I have brought you a proof from your Lord. So fear Allah and obey me. Truly, Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship only Him. This is The Right Way."[5:46, 2:87,3:50-51]

What miracles did Allah grant Jesus? Miracle of the clay bird
Jesus said,"I have come to you with a sign from your Lord. I fashion for you from clay the shape of a bird, then I breathe into it, and by Allah's permission, it becomes a living bird." [3:49]

Miracle of healing and life
"And I heal him who was born blind, and the leper, and bring the dead back to life, by Allah's permission."[3:49]

What Religion did Jesus teach his disciples?
When Jesus realised that most of the Children of Israel still did not believe, he said,"Who will help me in Allah's cause?". The disciples said,"We are Allah's helpers. We believe in Allah and bear witness that we are Muslims. Our Lord, we believe in what You have revealed, and we follow the Messenger, Jesus."[3:52:53]

Plot to kill Jesus
The disbelievers plotted against Jesus but Allah willed that their plot should fail. And Allah's will always prevails. Allah said,"O Jesus, I will take you and raise you up to Myself, and I will purify you of those who disbelieve, and I will make your true followers superior to the disbelievers till the Day of Resurrection. Then you will all return to Me, and I will judge between you in you disputes." [3:54-55]

Was Jesus' mission accepted?
The disbelievers have incurred Allah's wrath because of their disbelief in Jesus, and their grave slander against Mary, and their saying in boast,"We killed Jesus, son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah." [4:156-157]

Did Jesus die on the cross?
They did not kill Jesus or crucify him, but it was made to appear so to them. Those who difer about it are full of doubts. They have no certain knowledge but only speculate about what had happened. They surely did not kill him. [4:157]

Did Jesus rise from the dead? No! Allah raised Jesus up to Himself. Allah is Almight, All-Wise [4:158]

Is Jesus 'Son of God'?
The Christians say,"The Messiah, Jesus, is the Son of Allah." That is a saying from their own mouths. They imitate the false saying of earlier disbelievers. It does not befit the Majesty of Allah to beget a son. All-Glorified is He! [9:30, 19:35]

Is Jesus God?
They certainly disbelieve who say,"Allah is the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary." It is not possible that any man to whom Allah has given Revelation and Wisdom and Prophethood would say to people," Worship me instead of Allah." No! Rather, he would say,"Be devoted servants of Allah because you have taught the Book and you have studied it closely." [5:72, 3:79]

Was Jesus human or 'God Incarnate"
O, people of the Book (the Jews, the Christians and others with previously revealed Books)!Do not be extremem in your religion or say anyting about Allah except the Truth. The Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, was a human being, a Messenger of Allah, His Word ('Bel' - Kalimatullah), conveyed to mary, and a Spirit from Him (Ruhullah), which led to Mary's conception. They both ate food, like other human beings. [4:171, 5:75]

Created without parents - Was Adam a.s divine?
Indeed, the example of the creation of Jesus to Allah is like that of Adam a.s. Allah created Adam from dust, then He said to him,"Be!" - and he was. [3:59]

Is Trinity True?
They certainly disbelieve who say,"Allah is one of the three in a Trinity," If they persist in what they are saying, a painful punishment will surely befall them. [5:73]

Do not say,"Three-in-One"
Do not say,"Allah is a Trinity." Stop it! It is better for you. Allah is only One God. Allah is far above the need of having a son. All in the heavens and earth belong to Him. Never did the Messiah feel too proud to be Allah's servant, nor do the angels who are near to Allah. [5:73]

Say, "One and Only"
Say,"He is Allah, The One and Only God. Allah, The Eternal, The One on whom all depend, while He is independent of all. He begets not nor was He begotten (He has no child, and He is not born). And there is none like Him." [ 112:1-4]

Second Coming of Jesus
Jesus will be a sign for the Last Hour, that is, the End of Time. On the Day of Judgement, he will be a witness against the disbelievers. [43:61, 4:159]

Did Jesus claim to be God?
Allah will ask on the Day of Judgement," O Jesus, did you say to the people,"Take me and my mother as gods besides Allah?" Jesus will answer,"Glory be to You! I never said what I had no right to say. I told them only what You commanded me:'Worship only Allah, my Lord and your Lord.' "[5:116-117]

What happened to Jesus' true message?
Among the People of the Book, there are some who distort the Book with their tongues, and who say,"This is from Allah." They deliberately speak falsehoods about Allah. The Christians have forgotten and abandoned much of Jesus' true teachings. They became divided into various sects, so We caused among them emnity and hatred which will continue till the Day of Resurrection. [3:78, 5:14]

Follow Jesus or follow the Church?
The Christians take their priests to be their lords instead of Allah because they obey what their priests stipulate as lawful or unlawful, in place of Allah's Laws, although they were commanded in the Gospel of Jesus to worship only One God (Allah). [9:31]

Vicarious Atonement or Personal Accountability?
Everyone is responsible for his own actions No one bears the burdens (sins) of another. [6:164]

Who enters Paradise?
The People of the Book claim," No one shall enter Paradise unless he is a Jew or a Christian." There are merely their vain desires. Say,"Produce your proof, if what you say is true." Indeed, whoever submits his whole being to Allah (that is, becomes Muslim), while doing good, shall have his reward with his Lord. And all such need have no fear nor shall they grieve. [2:111-112]

The Real Jesus
Such was the real Jesus, son of Mary. It is the word of Truth about him. But they still dispute over him. This is the Truth from your Lord. Be not of those who doubt. [19:34,3:60]

A Challenge to stop all arguments
If anyone still argues with you, concerning this Truth about Jesus Christ, after all this knowledge has come to you, say, as a challenge, to them,"Come! Let us gather our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves, and then let us pray together earnestly and invoke Allah's curse upon those who lie!" [3:61]

What was the Good News in the Gospel of Jesus?
Jesus said,"O Children of Israel! I bring you good news of a Messenger who will come after me, whose name is Ahmad (another name of Prophet Muhammad s.a.w, meaning, The Praised One)."... The unlettered Prophet, who is described in the Torah and the Gospel. [61:6,7:157]

Prophet Muhammad s.a.w and the Qur'an: Truth Restored
O People of the Book! Our Messenger, Muhammad has now come to you to make clear to you much of what you have concealed of the Book (the Torah and Gospel), and to overlook much. There has now come to you from Allah a new Light and a clear book, the Qur'an, by which Allah guides to The Right Way. O Mankind! The Messenger, Muhammad, has brought to you the Truth from Allah. So believe- it is for your own good![5:15-16, 4:170]
